Enforcement / Modification of Court Orders

Court Orders • Akron Ohio area

Modification and Enforcement

Life is constantly changing and periodically it may be necessary to return to court to change an order. Sometimes it is necessary to return to court because the other party is not obeying the terms of an order.

At Melissa Graham-Hurd, Attorney at Law we are able to help our clients regardless of the reason for returning to court.

Enforcement

Court orders cannot be ignored just because the other party doesn't agree. Ohio Child Support Enforcement lawyer Melissa Graham-Hurd is able to assist clients by filing the necessary documents such as:

  • Motion to Show Cause/Motion for Contempt
  • Affidavit of the Facts
  • Objections to CSEA recommendations (if necessary)

Don't let the fact that the other party is not following the terms of a divorce or dissolution decree or another kind of court order prevent you from benefiting from what the court has ordered for you or your child.

Not only are you entitled to what the court decree gave you but you may also be entitled to compensatory parenting time or child support if the decree hasn't been followed. Call Melissa Graham-Hurd and schedule a time to meet with an experienced family law attorney.

Modification

As life goes on, it may be necessary to return to court to have a court order modified. Melissa Graham-Hurd, an experienced lawyer, can help you determine if you have the required basis for modifying child support, spousal support (alimony), or parenting orders (custody).

Some of the reasons why a court order can be modified include:

  • Increase or decrease in income
  • A child is over 18 and has graduated from high school
  • One parent is planning to move with the children, whether within or outside of Ohio
  • One parent's schedule changes making it necessary or helpful to change the parenting time schedule
  • Child's schedule changes
  • Circumstances change, making the old orders unreasonable or burdenson
